Frequently Asked Questions:
When do you Pray? Currently our church meets on Tuesday evenings at 8 PM for corporate prayer. We are in cooperation with the NYC-based Times Square Church's initiative for linked prayer with many other participating churches in NYC and accross the nation. Our "Circle of Concern" ministry meets weekly to pray, write encouragement notes and letters, keep track of the sick, the absent, and the shut-ins.
What is available for Sunday School? Sunday morning begins at 9AM with a time of coffee and refreshments, prior to the start of the teaching sessions. Sunday School at 9:45 to 10:30 AM offers exciting and interactive Christian education for all ages, from pre-schoolers to adults.
What is your Children's Ministry like? During the summer a Vacation Bible School program is available. From October through May, a free after-school children's Bible program is available each Monday afternoon. A Christian Cadet program is also available throughout the year. Other activities, like Easter and Christmas plays and Fall apple-picking outings are also regular children's activities.
Do you have a Youth Ministry? Teens and young adults have ample opportunities for fellowships, outings, retreats, and camps. Our Friday evening service often incorporates a youth emphasis, and our youth often fellowships at area diners following the Friday and Sunday evening services.
What is available for Men and Women? Men's and Women's ministry groups meet at 7:30 PM on the first Monday of each month. Other activities at additional times are announced as planned. For example, starting on January 22nd, the Women's Ministry is launching an 11-week "Breaking Free" seminar, meeting each Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM.
Do you have family fellowship activities? Throughout the year several family-oriented fellowship activities are planned. These include annual church picnics, Christmas parties, film nights, "Sight and Sound" trips, etc.
How do I get involved with the choir? Our Choir meets for practice most Tuesday evenings and ministers during the Sunday morning services and at special services throughout the year.
Are there other ministries I can work with? Active evangelistic outreach ministries are ongoing, to include door-to-door and tract distribution, feeding the homeless, Coney Island boardwalk evangelism, "street-meetings," rescue mission and nursing home ministries.
